On your wedding day, full of love and romance, you want everything to be perfect. It’s the little carefully chosen details that will bring the most heartfelt response from a loved one. Showing you’ve really thought about them…<\/p>\n

I think it’s just so lovely when the groom chooses a garter for his bride. A romantic gift of ‘I love you’ dressed up in silk, lace and ribbons… (Yes, I’m an old romantic \ud83d\ude09<\/p>\n

This is a fabulous message that I received from a groom after his wedding day…<\/p>\n

”I bought a silk garter for my wife (to be) for our wedding, as it covered something new and something blue.<\/p>\n

Wedding Garter Tradition<\/h2>\n<\/blockquote>\n

I was also aware that it was a tradition, I think her mother also gave her hers (so I guess something borrowed and something old) but she wore the one I bought her in the end and my great grandmothers engagement ring was the old thing. Now I think of it, I’m not sure what the borrowed thing was!<\/p>\n

Anyway it strikes me that your business is quite odd in that you are selling things for women but men are buying them (I am guessing). Also they are not going to buy more than one (you would hope!). I wonder whether the trend in vintage fashion (I see lots of new vintage clothing shops in my area – Wiltshire\/Somerset) will do your business some good. Maybe people will buy two garters – one for each leg for everyday use like they used to – maybe they already do – who knows?<\/p>\n

If it is of any help to you – I remember receiving the garter quickly which I was happy about in the run up to a wedding and whilst it’s not the sort of thing I had ever really thought about before, my wife was absolutely thrilled with it and it looked great and well made. The box was also nice and she keeps it in it now safe like a piece of jewellery.<\/p>\n

I think I paid a lot for the garter and it seemed expensive to me at the time (I’m an archaeologist) but was well worth it.<\/p>\n
